New Itinerary

What was I saying yesterday about things being up in the air and likely to change - well I was proven right within 24 hours! The latest plan is:
  • 1st-16th August - Palestine (Ramallah)
  • 17th August - 28th August - Kenya
  • 29th August - 21st September - Palestine (Gaza and Hebron)
  • 22nd - 24th Sept - Oxford Conference
  • 24th Sept - 1st Oct - R&R - that was the holiday bit of the working holiday I was talking about yesterday - got there eventually!
So Uganda is off the list at the moment. Hopefully Haiti will still be on the go a bit later - I was looking forward to ducking across to Cuba while Shez was hard at work!

Welcome!

Well, as you know I'll soon be off on a working holiday following S through the middle east and Africa - oh and the Caribbean! While I'm away I hope to keep you all updated with this blog.
I say working holiday, but at the moment, the itinerary seems to suggest more work than holiday. So far it includes:
  • Palestine/Israel
  • Kenya
  • Uganda
  • Haiti
There may also be a trip to London (for a conference) in the middle there somewhere. S has Zimbabwe and Sth Africa on her agenda a little later in the year. Then she's hoping to be based in Asia for the last few months of her contract. I'll probably be back in Oz around November.
As is often the case in this line of work, things are a bit up in the air, so I'll fill you in with more detail as I go. As for what I'll be doing - well that's also up in the air, though S has noted my Powerpoint skills and is looking for some help with a bunch of presentations - and I thought I had left that stuff behind!!
At the moment I am at home plowing though the admin of moving house and getting ready to go away. However, I have to say, sitting in my little office here looking out at the garden is certainly nicer than looking at the door to meeting room 3! Here's a photo of my current outlook - just in case you weren't jealous enough already.
That's the nearest coffee shop across the road.
